Bob’s cousin Ryan, who had previously worked as an assistant production coordinator, was now living in Chicago, producing comedy content for the web and working in enterprise SaaS consulting.

To stay connected, Bob and Ryan played video games online every week. On one such gaming session, Bob pitched the idea for his app:

Ryan: “So it’s an app that just tells you if the camera is rolling?”

Bob: “Yeah, and what scene you're on”

Ryan: “I think that’s a dumb idea”

Ryan slept on it and realized he may be the dumb one; it was such a simple idea, it must have just been passed over a million times, in a million minds. Look, the guys aren’t geniuses- but they did know a good idea when they saw it; now they just needed a designer.

Stu was a buddy in Ryan’s circle of friends in Chicago, who just so happened to be a world class UI designer with a pedigree in designing mobile applications for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Some luck, huh?

Over the next three years, the guys refined their software by iterating low-fidelity prototypes on real sets that Bob was working on, incorporating feedback to enhance features and functionality.
